Superintendent Appointed
OUTSTANDING MAN
Mr John G. McKenzie, of the Botanic Gardens, Wellington, has been appointed Superintendent of Reserves in Hastings. Mr McKenzie's father was Superintendent of Reserves in Northern Otago for thirteen years, and has been Director of Parks and Reserves in Wellington for the past seventeen years, and Mr McKenzie himself was a student gardener at Kew Gardens for two and a half years.
He has had a good record in representative Rugby and in Association football and cross-country running. Also he has been a prominent member of the Bov Scout movement.
A prominent horticultural authority has described Mr McKenzie as an outstanding man in horticulture in New Zealand.
