Alchemic Scores a Win

SPIRAL CAUSES SURPRISE By Telegraph—Press Association. WANGANUI, Sept. 14. The Wanganui Jockey Club’s spring meeting was concluded to-day in glorious weather before an improved attendance. The track was in excellent order. The totalisator handled £12,109. compared with £11,015 on the second day last year, making a grand total of £19,152 10/-, against £18,611 10/- last year, an increase of £541. An inquiry was held into the interference with Royal Banquet in the Higgie Memorial, which was held to be accidental. Results:— DEBUTANTE STARES. Of £65; 41 furlongs. 1 MOQUETTE, Mr G. M. Alchemic went into the lead three furlongs from home and was challenged by Haut Monde, who had had an interrupted passage, having to come from last at the half mile.
