VALEDICTORY
A very pleasing ceremony took place al, the ollice of the Napier-Wellington Transport Co., prior to the departure of Nr George Rhodes, accountant to the company, for Auckland, whore be has accepted an important appointment with the Auckland Electric Cower Board. Mr T. W. Hercock, manager of the company, made a presentation to Mr Rhodes on behalf of the staff and company and, in doing so, eulogised Mr Rhodes’s services, which he said had been largely instrumental in placing the company in its present position. Mr Rhodes was a man of outstanding ability, and his fellow members of the staff were glad to see that this was recognised. Mr Rhodes would take with him the good wishes, not only of the company, but of every member of the staff with whom ho bad worked. Mr Rhodes suitably and feelingly replied.
