Annual General Meeting ELECTION OF OFFICERS The Hawke's Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society held its annual general meeting in Napier this morning. In the unavoidable absence of the president, Mr J. H. Maeniven, tho chair was occupied by the Hon. 11. A. Russell. There was a large attendance of members. ■
Tho annual report, (already published) and balance-sheet were adopted.
The election of officers involved a ballot only in the case of the committee, there being 38 nominations for 36 positions. There was only one nomination for each of the other official petitions. The officers for the ensuing year are as follow: —President, Mr J. H. Maeniven; vice-president, Mr J. H. Absolum ; lion, treasurer, Mr G. Kelly; committee Messrs E. Averill, A. Avery, C. J. Baker, N. Beamish, L. T. Bisson, N. M. Campbell, AV. H. Campbell, J. M. Chambers, H. R. Clark, A. K. Cotterill, Chas. Douglas, H. L. G. Drummond, J. Graham, 11. M. Glazebrook, D. .). Holden, J. AL Joll, F. V. Kettle, W. J. Livingston, J. N. Lowry, J. Lyons, J. A. Alacfarlane, L. Maclean, T. A. Moodie, T. V. ’Morrin, C. J. Nairn, E. AL Nckon, L. Al. Pattulo, H. 8. Rathbone, A. Al. Robertson, R. Sunderland, W. O. Taylor, W. A. Tod, C. E. Twist, E. Wall, C. K. White, R. Campbell Maeniven.
Tho acting-chairniKii made special reference to the past services on the committee ol Air A. Reid. He is to be sent a letter of appreciation from the society.
Thirty new members were elected, bringing the total membership of the society up to 2018.
Before the conclusion of the meeting, a vote of thanks was passed to the secretary, Air A. Al. Retemeyer. and his staff for the valuable work done in the past year.
