CAR CAPSIZES
Woman Crushed by Chassis COLLISION IN NAPIER Two cars came into violent collision at the intersection of George's Drive and Kennedy road, Napier, at about 4.30 on Saturday afternoon, as the result of which Mrs Clara Capper, aged 53, suffered serious injuries to her chest and was admitted to the Napier Hospital. Her condition improved slightly, but the hospital authorities ! said last night that her case was regarded as serious. Beyond shock and 1 abrasions, none of the others were injured. . 4 cat driven by Mr H. H. McDougall had just crossed the new bridge which links tne 475-acre block with the borough, and was travelling towards Napier when it came into collision with another car going along George’s Drive towards Te Awa. This second car carried Mr W. Capper, a carrier, of , Levin, his wife, and Mrs J. McKenzie and Miss McKenzie, of McGrath street, Napier. Mr Capper’s car turned completely around and then capsized, and when the dazed occupants were able to take stock of the position, they found Mrs Capper pinned beneath the overturned car, which was badly damaged. They managed to extricate her, and someone rang for a doctor and the ambulance. .Mrs Capper was admitted to hospital, where the doctor discovered she had fairly extensive chest injuries. All the other parties suffered shock, and Mr Capper wrenched his fight shoulder and also suffeied abrasions, but does ' not appear to have received any seriI ous hurt.
