At the request of all members present, Mrs Riggir repeated and amplified her very helpful and inspiring address on the aims and ideals of the Women’s Institute, her listeners feeling that they had gained much helpful information from the talk. The competition, “nursery rhymes,” which caused much amusement, was won by Mrs Edgecombe. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, .Mrs Allan and Mrs Robeon. INSTITUTE PARTY. Members and friends of the Marae-totara-Waimarama Women’s Institute spent a pleasant and cheery evening at the home of Miss Chambers, Mokapeka. The party was organised by the Women’s Institute, and the time passed very quickly with dancing, games and novel competitions. Bridge was enjoyed by the players in a room set aside for that purpose. During the evening two humorous duologues—“A Scottish Courting,” acted by Mis* Patricia Hart and Miss Thom, and “Lost Property,” by Airs Elliott and Miss Palmer, caused much amusement.
