ST. PAUL’S, NAPIER
Rev. D. N. Mac Diarmid Accepts Call
The Rev. D. N. Mac Diarmid M.8.E., 8.A., has accepted the call from the congregation of St. Paul’s Church, Napier, to succeed the Rev. J. A. Asher, recently retired. The Bay of Plenty Presbytery met at Whakatane last Wednesday and placed tho call in Mr MacDiannid’s hands. Ho accepted it. The Hawke’s Bay Presbytery will meet sit Hastings on Tuesday to make arrangements for tho induction. Mr Mac Diarmid will probably bo settled in Napier about tho middle of July. For the last three years Air JfacDiarmid has ministered at Upotiki. where his work has been signalised with seal and the establishment of very happy associations. His early years were spent in Napier, where his father was an officer in o»e of the banks. Then he went to New Plymouth, and subsequently to Dnuedin, where ho entered the theological college and secured his degree. The initial part of his ministry was spent in the mission field in the Sudan, where he worked successfully for some years till the tropic sun affected his eyesight and perforce bo returned to New Zealand.
