AUSTRALIAN IRON-ORE
British Interests Before Japanese (Received 14, 10.10 a.m., PERTH, -March 13. A Japanese delegation recently attempted to secure a long lease of extensive iron ore de per-its at Yampi Sound, Western Australia, but the State Government rejected its overtures. It has now granted a six months reservation to British interests, represented by Sir James Connolly, formerly Agent-General for Western Australia in London, who has given an assurance that the deposits will be tested within that period.
