Blackberry & Apple Recipe Here is an excellent recipe for blackberry and apple jam which Ims two secrets of success; (1 > The addition ot sago makes the blackberry seeds seem to melt away; the apples are cooked first and alone, as any bla'k'ierry juice would tend to harden them. Soak the sago tor an hour in cold water and allow to swell. Peel- ;o 1 e and slice the apples and stew them in sufficient water to keep them from burning. W hen they are quite soft, add the blackberries and boil together tor half an hour. Add the soaked sago and the sugar, and stir constantly. Bod all together rapidly until it sets when tested (about three-quarters ot an hour), then pour into sterilised jars and cover
