Maraekakaho Meeting
The February meeting of the Maraekakaho Women’s Institute was held in the hall on Thursday, there being only a fair attendance of members. The president, Mrs. J. Graham, occupied tlie ehair. The meeting was opened by the singing of the institute song, after which the aspirations were read. The president welcomed members and visitors. All present stood as an expression of sympathy with two members who had suffered bereavements since the last meeting. Members were reminded that nominations for the new committee must be in a fortnight before the general meeting and were asked to submit suggestions for the programme for the forthcoming year. A resolution to go before the next Federation meeting was passed and handed to the secretary.
The monthly flower competition was won by Mrs. Simmons, with Mrs. James second. In a game of musical parcels, the parcel went to Mrs. Dasent. A dainty afternoon tea was served, after which the singing of the national Anthem brought a happy afternoon to a close.
