RUGBY, September 17.
Following the success ot the eune of silence introduced as an experiment in the London area on August 27, the use of horns by motor vehicles between 11.30 p.m. and 7 a.tn. from to-night will be prohibited ou ull roads throughout the United Kingdom in built up area*— that is, roads with street lamps not more than 20J yards apart.
All big towtv* and suburbs and ma«y thousands miles of roads will thua become vast silence areas nightly. The Minister of Transport has issued a personal appeal thanking the motorists of London for co-operating and asking for similar co-operation from motorists throughout the whole country.
