The monthly meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Hospital Board was held yesterday. Mr C. O. Morse presided over Messrs A. E. Bedford, C. Lassen, C. H. Williams, N. P. Eriksen, 8. J. McKern C. Duff, Dr. J. A. Berry, Dr. H. M. Wilson, and Dr. J. Foley (medical superintendent). The board referred to a committee, with power to act, an application from the matron, Miss L. M. Croft, urging the appointment of a tutor sister. Monthly vouchers amounting to £2626 18/7 were passed for payment. The medical superintendent reported that there were 166 patients in the Napier Hospital at present. Operations performed during the month totalled 84, consisting of 35 major and 40 minor. There were 296 patients treated in the outpatients’ department during the month, and £l5 2/- was collected in fees.
There were at present 24 patients m the Hastings Hospital, reported Dr. Foley. During the month 63 operations, 15 major anTl 48 minor, had been performed. Patients treated at the outpatients’ department numbered 201. and the fees collected were £l6 1/6.
