AUSTRALIAN TRADE

DELEGATION FROM N.Z, Ministers’ Suggested Visit MR. FORBES DENIES RUMOUR By Telegraph—Special to "Tribune.’-' WELLINGTON, Sept. 18. There is no intention on the part of the Government that three Ministers—the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, the Mini#ter of Finance, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, and the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. B. Masters—should shortly visit Australia to discuss trade matters, as is suggested in a cablegram from Sydney.

The Prime Minister stated to-day that, no invitation to send a representative or representatives to Australia had been received by the Government and no consideration had been given t* the suggestion that a delegation should be sent. It was possible that it would be necessary to send a Minister to Australia to discuss trade and other matters, but it was certainly not intended that three should go.

Apart from other considerations, ths session would still be in progress and it would be impossible for three Minis, ters to leave the country under those circumstances.

A cablegram from Sydney advised that the Minister of Commerce, tho Hon. F. H. Stewart, announced yestor. day that a conference would shortly be held between the New Zealand and Australian Governments, probably at Canberra, respecting the embargo on citrus fruits and other matters of mutual interest. It was expected that the Rt. Hons. J. G. Coates, G. W. Forbes and R. Masters would attend tlie conference on behalf of New Zealand.
