Mrs. Anna Hato, tho well-known Maori singer, of Rotorua, arrived at Wellington with her husband yesterday by tho Maunganui after a few months' holiday at Tahiti. She left last night for Rotorua .where she will join in tho coming season’s activities of the Tuhouraugi concert party.

Mr. Stanley Smith, acting on medical advice, has resigned from his position as advertising manager of tho “New Zealand Dairy Exporter.” Mr. Smith, who has been unwell for some time past, intends taking a long recuperative holiday, after which he will settle in Australia.

Captain J. J. Cameron, who was for many years in the service of the New Zealand Shipping Company (latterly as commander of tho Rcmuera), with Mrs. Camcron, intends leaving England. on a trip to Now Zealand by the Rangitata about tho middle of October. Mrs. Cameron was a daughter of Mr. Whitson, of Dunedin, for some years secretary of tho Union Company.

Mr. W. Y. Craig, a young racing motor driver well known on Brooklands track, England, arrived in Wellington yesterday by the Maunganui from Tanitit for a short stay in New Zealand. Mr. Craig captured six international records in 1930 with his Bugatti three-litre car. These included the standing mile race, the standing kilometre, the 50 miles, the 100 kilometres, and the one-hour event. All of his records, said Mr. Craig, had since been broken by others. He is an air pilot who holds au “A” license.
