As a sequel to a smash-and-grab raid at a pawnbroker’s shop in Auckland on September I, Frank Edgar Gibson, aged 18, a painter, William Ernest Hewins, aged 26, a labourer pleaded guilty to-day to breaking and entering and stealing 44 diamond rings of a toal value of JL‘ll2. They were cominited for sentence. After the theft they went to Hamilton, where Gibson was arrested trying te sell a ring.
