The Rosehill laces were held in warm weather. New Zealand horses did poorly Results;

HL VER KING 8.5 (Webb) 1 Gladswood (N Z.) 8.5 (Britt) 2 lheo (N.Z.) 8.5 (McCartenj 3 Seventeen started, including Marcus Cicero. Wou by three lengths, third back half a neck. Time, 1.53 J. Marcus Cicero was ninth.
CAMELLIA STAKES Seven furlongs.
CAREFREE 7.7 (McCarten) Roman Spear 8.1 (Zensky) Blixten (N.Z.) 8.6 (Pratt)
Seventeen started, including Autopay, Golden Gate, Persian, Diatomous. The Masquerader and Frimsel. Won by a length, third back a head. The Masquerader was fourth, with Persian and Autopay eleventh and twelfth respectively. Time, 1.26 J.
Autopay got badly away from the barrier, Tho Masquerader made a brilliant finishing run, but struck trouble in the straight.

Seven started, including Silver Scorn, but Riogilla was scratched. Chatham, although challenged and pressed by Closing Time, won comfortably by three-quarters of a length, with two and a half lengths between second and third. Silver Scorn was a bad last. Time, 1.39. Nightly pulled up slightly lame.
The Brush Hurdle race was won by Newbold Boy. which just beat Greensea by a neck. The latter was carrying the staggering burden of 13.13. He was accorded a. great ovation. Clangor (N.Z.) was third. Ln the Highweight Handicap Capris was fifth in the first division and IXile third. In the second division King of Diamonds ran unplaced. In tho Rosehill Highweight (first division), Royal Amphora ran unplaced.
