HASTINGS FLOWERS

SHOW OF SPRING DISPLAYS. The Hustings Horticultural Society held its spring flower show on Saturday, ami it was one of the most successful held for some years. Tho innovation of a display of spring blooms by various -women's organisations in the district was a great success, the exhibits taking up a good portion of one side of the hall. There were some lovelv blooms among the collections, Havelock North Institute being awarded first prize. Highly successful also was a stall for the sale of plants and seedlings, which brought in a useful amount of money. The hyacinths were very good. One would 1 like to see a larger number of entries in tho decorative section.

The hall was literally packed with interested garden enthusiasts very appreciative of tho splendid display. Seen at the hall were: Airs Tosswill, Air and Airs C. J. Baker.
