H.B. Branch Meeting
The Hawke's Bay branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union held its monthly meeting in Hastings this morning, Mr R. E. Talbot presiding over a god attendance of members. ■Replying to the Union’s complaint concerning damage from slips and stormwater to the railway line between Napier and Putorino, the N.Z. Railways Department wrote that this damage was comparatively small. .It was not proposed to carry out any repair work at present.—The letter was received. The headmaster of the Napier Boys’ High School wrote soliciting ;i donation towards their farm funds.—-It was decided to obtain information concerning the activities of the school farm.
A letter was received from Dannevirke Union secretary regarding suggestions for improvements concerning the organisation of the Farmers’ Union generally to be submittted to the forthcoming conference. —In the course of a discussion members were of the opinion that all organisations dealing with farm or land interests should be co-or-dinated. By the formation of a unified executive the interests of the allied bodies would be attracted.—lt was decided to refer the submissions to a committee. to put in order and forward to the DanM*irk* Onio*.
