BEEF CATTLE AT SHOW
Great Importance of Section
The prospects of chilled beef export becoming an important industry give additional interest to the cattle classes at the Hawke’s Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s spring show. Hawke’s Bay has always been regarded as the premier beef cattle province of the Dominion, and this reputation is likely to bo further enhanced by the recent importations from the Old Country of animals suitable for developing cattle of the right type for the chilled beef trade.
The schedule for both beef and dairying varieties of cattle at the Hawke’s Bay Sb"'v is a very comprehensive one, and tie are plenty of valuable specials tu be competed for. Taken all round this section is likely to bo a very fine one, perhaps a record for the society. Entries for the schools section close on Wednesday next, September 19; for the stock classes (horses, cattle, sheep and pigs), on Saturday, September 29, and for all other classes on Wednesday, September 26. Entries may be made either at tho Society’s office. Church road. Napier, or at Mr F. C. Wilkinson’s office, Queen Street, Hastings.
