FLOUR AND WHEAT

— » • ——— Importation Restricted BOARD’S ACTION By Telegraph—Press Association.! LHRISTCHURCH, April 6. Action to limit the importation of flour and wheat into New Zealand has been taken by the Wheat Purchase Board in the hopes that a better clearance of Dominion products will be effected. The Board has entered into a contract with millers, who have undertaken not to mix more than 5 per cent, of imported flour in the next six months, and 2f per cent, for the six months following. North Island millers are now using about 10 per cent, of imported flour. North Island suppliers of flour particularly have found themselves in a difficult position from overseas competition, so the Board has decided to pay a subsidy of 15/- a ton on all flour sold in the North.
