The excellent batting performance given by M. O’Brien in lhe Hawke’s Bay versus South Auckland representative cricket match at Easter'enabled him to pass the 1000 mark for runs scored during the past season. In the first innings against South Auckland he made 57, and the second innings 100 not out. O'Brien is the only batsman in this district to score 1000 runs this season.
