SUNDAY SCHOOL PICNIC ENJOYABLE TIME SPENT From Our Own Correspondent. | OTANE, April 5. Miss Una Powell, who has conducted a Sunday school at To Kura for some months past, and some of her friends entertained the children, and their parents at a picnic. held on Mr \V. Couper’s property, beside the Patangata river The day was beautifully fine and both children and parents had a wonderful time playing games, swimming and running races. Prizes were given to the winners of the various events. Miss Powell had taken out a -.mall organ and accompanied the children when they sang a number of choruses, etc., much to the delight of their elders. oughly enjoyable day and the first Sunday school picnic held at Te Kura will not easily be forgotten by those fortunate enough to participate in the day’s outing. PERSONAL NOTES. Mesdames (J. and H. Bainbridge ate on a holiday visit to Palmerston North. Mrs Teasdale, Belmont, is the guest of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr and Mrs 0. Page, Otane. Mr Heeney, formerly postmaster at Otane, and Mrs Heeney, now of Rakaia, are the guests of Mr and Mrs T. A. Ridge, Otane. Mr and Mrs D. Howitt, who spent I Easter in Wellington, have returned home accompanied by Mrs Howitt’s mother, Mrs Eisk, Kilbirnie. Miss Lyra Clark, of Wellington, is the guest of Mrs Scriingeour. Miss Clark later goes to stay with Mrs Mines, the schoolhouse, Rissington. i Mrs J W. Lewis, of Hamilton, is I the guest of her brother, Mr F. E. I Williams.
