WHAKATU'S ANNUAL EEPORT. SUCCESSFUL SEASON. The annual report of the Whakatu Football Club, to be presented at the annual meeting In Hastings on Thursday evening. April 12, at 7.30 o’clock, Ma<U as follows: — Your committee has pleasure in recording that the past season has been • most successful one in every way, and considering the times through which we are passing the financial position of the clnb must be considered satisfactory. The enthusiasm which has already been displayed by not only members of our own club, but by all others interested in the code, augurs well for the coming aeasou. The past year was unquestionably the most successful season which the ebb has experienced since its inception, when viewed from a playing aspect Tour clnb won the Hawke’s Rav
Championship, the Fairclough Cup, the Hastings-Whakatu Challenge Cup, and were runners-up in the Atkinson Memorial Cup. The team’s record was a particularly fine one, for, of the 16 games played only one was lost, 81 goals being scored for and only 17 against—a truly fine record. Another very pleasing item is the fact that nine of the players members gained representative honours. The management committee expresses its heartfelt thanks to all those who assisted the club in any way during the year, especially the ladies.
