DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB From Our Own Correspondent. The following team has been selected to represent the Poporangi Defence Riffe Club in the match with Takupau for the Forde Cup, to be held on the Whanakino range at the week-end:— W. A. Whyte, Nelson Smith, J. O’Toole, L. R. Averill, R. Sorensen, L. Forde, C. Nicholson, S. Simmons, W. Tankersley, C. G. Averill; emergencies, P. Walker, R. Tankersley, W. Livingston. Shooting will commence at 10 a.in. DOG TRIAL CLUB. The Kereru Dog Trial Improvement Club will hold its second annual fixture on the Olng grounds on Saturday next, commencing at 10 a.m. sharp. The aims of the club are to bring out young dogs and to give new competitors experience in handling three sheep under trial conditions. It is purely a local event, the boundaries for entries being Hynish, Glenlyon, Washpool and the Ngawa river. Any dog that has been placed first, second or third in open competition, first in maiden events, or first in local trials will not be eligible. Post entries will be taken by the secretary, Mr O. Nicholson.
