SEQUEL TO ACCIDENT
Damages Awarded An action for damages amounting to £5B 13/6 arising out of a collision between a cyclist named A. M. Johnston and a motor-vehicle driver named L. V. Pierse on the Marine Parade, Napier, on October 25, 1933, was heard in the Napier Magistrate’s Court today. Judgment in favour of the plaintiff was given by Mr E. L. Walton, S.M., who fixed security for appeal at £lO 10/-, plus solicitor’s fee £2 15/7. Plaintiff alleged that he was cycling along the Marine Parade when he was struck by a motor-vehicle driven by the defendant and thrown from his bicycle, as the result of which he suffered severe injuries and was incapacitated till December 11. Plaintiff was repiesented by Mr C. W, Nash and defendant by Mr H. B. Lusk.
