CREEPING AVALANCHE
Overwhelming a Village REPETITION OF 1926 EVENT (Received 16, 11.50 a.m.) NICE, March 15. Fourteen hundred villagers, driven from their homes, are watching by the light of bonfires an avalanche steadily overwhelming Roquevilliere, which was devastated in 1926. Stones and mud are pouring down the mountainside, flattening houses. It is expected that the entire village will be buried in 24 hours.
