TREATMENT OF NATIVES
Australian Aborigines CANNIBALISM UNKNOWN (Received 16. 11.35 a.m.) PERTH, March 16. Mr. A. Neville, chief protector of aborigines, informed the Royal Commission investigating the treatment of natives, that while in' the past some aborigines may have been addicted to cannibalism, the practice was unknown to-day. Statements published abroad describing cannibalism among Blacks were based on erroneous information.
