MEEANEE DRAINAGE
Scheme Almost Finished BENEFIT TO FARM LANDS The drainage scheme which is being carried out by'the Hawke’s Bay County Council to provide an outlet for surface water in the Meeanee township, is now almost completed. The old drains leading across paddocks from the hotel to Tannery Creek have been silted up, and a new work having a much improved fall, has been carried out along the main road. Local drainage has been a problem for some years, and it is anticipated that it will now be overcome to the benefit of several farm lands.
