Last night the Napier Chamber of Commerce passed the following resolution, which was proposed and seconded by Messrs M. S. Spence and H. Anderson: “That in assigned estates, consent may be effected by an adequate majority, in terms of number and value, which shall bind the minority.” Mr Spence said it was most troublesome sometimes when one man obstinately failed to agree with tho majority but remained adamant that his account should In paid in full. The president, Mr W Harvey, said he knew of a case which was delayed for 12 months through a creditor's refusal to consent to the ruling of the others.
