Pearsons, Punch, The Sphere HOSPITAL STATISTICS. “During'the month of February, 66 patients were admitted to hospital, of which 42 were nialea and 24 females. There were 66 dischinged, of which 45 were males and 21 females, and there was one death, a female, leaving in hospital on the night of Febrm 28, 59, of which 35 were males u...l 24 females. Of this number three were in the Rathbone annexe, all males. The daily average of occupied beds for the month was 62.1. There were in hospital at the end "of the month eight patients who had been inmates for periods of three months or more, stated the medical superintendent of the Waipukurau Public Hospital, during the course of his monthly report. GENERAL NEWS. An enjoyable concert was presented at the artillery camp at the Waipukurau racecourse by the members of the 17th. Howitzer Battery, assisted by a number of local artists. Officers, n.c.o.’s and men of other ranks contributed to the programme, whilst the assisting Waipukurau representatives were Misses P. Chisholm and P. D. Clark, and Alessrs Len W'ood and J. Bovce. “With the abundance of feed the dairy herd is doing well, and over and above institutional requirements we are supplying five gallons daily to the hoeuital, as well as having sent’336lbs. of butter to the factory,” stated Mr R. A. Fraser, farm advisory member to the Waipawa Hospital Board at the board's monthly meeting. The Patangata County Council notifies its intention to appoint an assessor to the Assessment Court, and advise* that nominations will be received at the county’s office up till April 4. Miss E. M. Hutchison, of Lcura, Blue Mountains. Australia, is at present staying with the Rev. and Mrs Hutchison, Waipukurau. Mr and Airs M. H. Collins, of Hatuma, are at present touring Taranaki. Air and Mrs P. A. Riddle, of Hatuina, are on a holiday visit to Christchurch. Miss L. Shaw, of Masterton. is the guest of Air J. Williamson, of Hatuma.
