COMING EVENTS
Exhibitions of billiards playing will , be given this evening at the Heretaupga Club by Clark McConachy. Mr. ‘ Albert Davies, of Hastings, will be his ’ opponent in the principal games. Where’er you go in Hawke’s Bay at 3 the present time, one of the chief . topics of conversation is the Puketapu sports meeting, which will be held on ’ Saturday next, March 17. It is a meeting with which so many pleasant memories aro associated that it is 1 looked forward to with keen anticipa- ■ lion. A very full programme- is that • which the Puketapu Sports Club oiler:; ■ to its patrons, and it covers a very 1 wide range of sporting events. Past i sports meetings of this club have been t so successful that it i.s difficult to pro- . diet any greater success. However, the . club is well on the way to a record success for most of Hid sections for j which entries are already in are records for their particular classes, and with a 3 proportionate increase in the remaining * events, new figures will he set. The ‘ attendance, too, is likely io be fully up r i to the best of past years. An equal I j success may he anticipated for the sports bull in the evening.
