Stortford Cattle Sale * GOOD LINES LEAST AFFECTED There was an easier tendency apparent on the store cattle market at fetortlord Lodge yesterday, when an entry of 1300 head was ottered. Good quality and well-bred lines were least affected, the greatest degree of tall being experienced on Tighter and poorer lines of cattle. Demand was good and well maintained, although buyers had evidently reduced their rates in aome degree. Some well-bred lines of cattle were •ntered,' particularly in the steer offerings, one line of which went to £5 15/Heifers and cows were in only moderate supply, the greater portion of the yarding comprising bullocks and steers Some of the entries and prices paid, from which an approximation of the conditions ruling on the market maybo gleaned, were as follow t— A line of 54 Hereford 2j yr. steers, down from the Mohaka district, smallframed, mixed as to condition, pssaed at £2 7/6. A line of 64 speyed Hereford cows, in good store order, down from Ruakitun and offered on account of Mr L. Mortis met the market at £3 17/0. A lAaitoa draft of P A. and P.A.Hereford crossbred bullocks, fairlyframed and in good order, passed at £5. Fifty-nine Hereford bullocks, down from the Wairoa district, mediumframed snd entry mg good store order, Realised £5 10/-. A draft of 71 P.A. 18 month steers fairly grown and store conditioned, passed at £3 7/6. Well-grown and in good order, a pen of P.A. and Hereford 2j year steers •old nt £4 IH/-. A further pen of speyed cows, offered on account of Mr L Morris, Ruakitiiri. 64 in the pen, carrying good store order, made £3 16/-. A pen of 57 P.A. 18 months heifers, medium framed and store conditioned, Realised £2 Ah Otane draft of 39 Hereford yr. •terrs, store-conditioned and in good hardy order, had a good sale at £5 ISZA pen of 18 months P.A. steers, down from Wairoa, store conditioned, p issed at £2 17/-. Down from Rissington and offered on account ot Messrs Parker Bros., a line of good 18 months P.A. steers •old at £3 15/-. A nen of store-conditioned Holstein t«,ws, with Holstein calves at foot, Realised £2. Mixed as to breeds, a pen of 9 hard •tore-conditioned cows made £1 3/6.
