WAIPUKURAU SOCIETY MEETS RESULTS OF GYMKHANA (From Our Own Correspondent) The monthly meeting of the Waipukurau branch of the Plunket Society was held on Tuesday afternoon, Mrs J. Hobson presiding over Mesdames W. A. Chambers, F. A. G. Dunn, G. E. Gideon, L. G. Harker, J. W. Harding P. Hunter, I. W. N. Mackie, C. r’ Moore, J. C. Nicholls, C. Pattison, E. Broad, Miss Winlove and the secretary, Mrs J. H. Walker. The Plunket Nurse’s report for the month of February was read as follows: —Visits to rooms; Waipukurau. adults 123, babies 100, children 27; Takapau, adults 25, babies 21, children 8. Visits to homes: Waipukurau 2. Takapau 2. Children uudercare: Waipukurau 177, Takapau 67. The president, secretary and two members of the committee of the Takapau branch attended the meeting and matters in connection with the Taka pan branch were discussed. The report and balance-sheet of the recent Plunket gymkhana were read and proved most satisfactory, the sum ot £135 being realised. The" president. Mrs Hobson, congratulated the members on their efforts. A vote of thanks was passed to the members of the Cricket Association for postponin’’ its cricket matches thus enabling the society to have (Tie use of Bussell Park: the Boy Scouts, Mr H. Hooper (Arlington), Mr J W. Harding, and all other helpers. A special vote of thanks was passed to Mrs J Hobson and Mrs J. H. Walker. Miss Joy Jackson was announced as the winner of the doll's pram made and donated by Miss Gideon As the new Plunket rooms are now tend, for occupation the furnishing of them was discussed Mesdames Hobson, Walker, W. Chambers, Dunn, and Miss Signal! were appointed the furnishing committee. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames .1 D. Ormond, Paul Hunter and M. Joblin. Accounts amounting to £3 10/were parsed for payment.
