Northern Oaks, states a Press Association message from Auckland. * * * The position that arose at Woodville on Wednesday, when the Daunovirke races had to bo postponed, is without known precedent during the last 20 years or so in the Dominion’s racing history, says the Wellington “Post.” Meetings have often been postponed in accordance with the rules before 9 or 10 o’clock in the forenoon, and on one occasion two years back the Rotorua Club had to abandon the racing after two events had been contested because the track had become so treacherous; but the Dannevirke Club stopped its meeting at the very moment when the i ntalisator had collected its pool for the Irsf r::«e and the order for starting was : b ic be sent out.
