OBITUARY
MR J. J. QUINN. The death occurred suddenly yesterday of Mr John Joseph Quinn, proprietor of the National Hotel, Lambtou Quay, Wellington, at the age of 40 years. Mr Quinn was born in County Waterford, Ireland, and wae educated at the Christian Brothers’ School, Waterford. After serving lor several years with the railway department he enlisted with the Irish Guards in 1914, and served with distinction, gaining the D.C.M. He remained at the front until 1918, and was in the same company as Sergeant Michael O’Leary, V.C. After the war Mr Quinn came to New Zealand and engaged in the hotel business, finally taking over the National Hotel, Wellington. He is survived by his widow, four young children, and his mother in Ireland.
