TARADALE TOWN BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING HELD. CORRESPONDENCE AND REPORTS The monthly meeting of the Taradale Town Board was held on Thursday night, there being present Messrs C. H. Williams (in the chair), W. H. 0. Howard, A. V. Danvers. F. 0. Anderson, J. Wainscott and j. Gilmour. Leave of absence was granted to Mr J. Williamson. Permission was granted to Mr W. J. Lopdell, the contractor for the building of the new Redcliffe bridge, to erect a camp on the camping grounds to be occupied while the bridge is being constructed. The Taradale Hockey Club was granted the use of the extension of the park for the ensuing year. Thso use of the park was granted to tho Taradale Rugby League Football Club at a rental of £lO for tho coming season. Messrs W'illiamson, Williams, Wainscott, Gilmour and the clerk were up pointed a committee to consider apt,' cations for relief to farm lands under the Urban Farms Land Rating Act. The clerk (Mr W. G. Jarvis) reported that the board was continuing to take its share of the work of finding employment for unemployed workers as well as retaining its own staff. The amount paid under No. 5 Scheme for the year ended March 31 was approximately £2,502. This amount included wages for men at Parke Island, Tara dale, relief awdone and work done for the Public work* Department.
