OHURAKURA-TE POHUE GROUP. The monthly meeting of the Ohura-kura-Te Pohuo Women’s Institute was held at Ohurakura, the president presiding over a good attendance. Two new members were present. The meeting opened with the singing of tho institute song. Mrs A. T. Ziegler was chosen as the delegate to the half-yearly meeting in Napier on April 2G. The roll call, “Scotch Jokes,” caused much amusement. The institute was favoured with a visit from four members of the Eskdale Institutto, and a very interesting demonstration on wool-rug making was given by one of their number, Mrs Brown, who was accorded a hearty vote of thanks of appreciation for the splendid exhibition of beautiful rug work. The president welcomed the visitors and Mrs Saunders suitably replied on their behalf. The home competition, cured and dyed sheep-skins, brought forth a good response, Mrs Mcßobbie gaining first place with Mrs Ziegler second. The spelling competition resulted in Miss Julian being placed first and Mrs I. King second. The 6d “bring and buy” included many interesting parcels. A dainty afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Brooks, Atkins, Havord, Hankin, Johnson and Adsett. PUTORINA GROUP.
