NAPIER REPERTORY PLAYERS

SOCIETY INCORPORATED. MEMBERS ENTHUSIASTIC. The recently-formed society named the Napier Repertory Plavers is to be incorporated under the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908. At a special general meeting held last evening a set of rules was confirmed, which are to bo forwarded to the Registrar of Incorporated Societies for registration. The meeting, which was attended by a large number of enthusiastic members, decided to perform a one-act play on May 17 next. This will be held in the lounge of the Masonic Hotel and admittance will be by invitation. This function is intended to take tho form of the official commencement of the Napier Repertory Players’ winter programme. After the performance of that play the society will embark upon a definite programme of plays to bo produced during the coming winter.. Intending members of the society aro asked to notify the secretary, Mr. A. C. Cunningham, or Miss May MacDonald, within the next week, as tho selection of a cast for the play on May 17 must be made as early as possible. Judging by the enthusiasm at present displayed by members and intending members, tho majority of whom have had past experience in repertory work, it seems apparent that the people of Napier are going to be excellentlyserved in the matter of suitable plays with talented casts.
