FIRST MATCH OF THE SEASON VISIT FROM NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB The first Rugby match of the coming season will be held at McLean Park, Napier, on Saturday afternoon, commencing at half-past two o’clock, the teams being Napier Pirates and Tukapa, New Plymouth. The teams selected for this game are aj follow:— Tukapa.— Walker, Lobb, Hall, Webster, Wallace, R. Kuott, Brown (cap.), Davison, Carter, McNeill, 'Dickey, O’Dowd, Thomson, Soransen, F. Knott, Gardiner and Meredith. Pirates.—West, Farquhar, D. Jones, Yates, Broad, H. Jones, Stanford, Rees, Mercer, Scarlet, R. Keeble, Jones, Charles, D. Keeble, and Dick; emergepcies: Hammond, McKenzie and Hildebrandt. The visitors will arrive in Napier on Friday night and will be the guests of the Pirates Club at a dance, which is to be held at the Victoria Hall on Easter Saturday night. Prior to the senior match there will be a junior grade game between Pirates and another team to be arranged. The Pirates team will be:— McKnight, Hatwel, McKendrick, Neill, Dowrick, Thompson, Grouden, Hyde, Hargreaves, McGraw, Neville, Krogh, Girvan, Forward, Edwards, George, Burns, Hammond, and Harrison, At the conclusion of the senior match the new gymnasium of the Pirates Club will be officially opened by the club’s patron, Mr W. Corbett. GAMES OVER EASTER TOUR OF M. 8.0.8. CLUB The annual Rugby football tournament for the Spillane Cup is to held at Wanganui next Saturday morning and afternoon and on Monday morning, the final being fought out on Monday afternoon. Arrangements are well in hand for the entertainment of the visiting footballers. They include a ball on Saturday evening, a picnic up the Wanganui river on Sunday' and a smoke concert on Monday evening, when the opportunity will be taken to present the cups. Football Club will make a trip to Gisborne during the week-end. The team will travel on the same day as the Technical 0.8. senior team, and will participate in " eurtain-raiser for the latter’s match with Gisborne Old Boys.
