FAT SHEEP VALUES
LOWER RATES OPERATING. PRICES SLIGHTLY LOWER. The reduction in export schedules Was felt slightly at yesterday’s sale of fat sheep at Stortford Lodge, prices for some lines being somewhat easier. Export buyers were operating on the market to a certain extent where they were able to fulfil their requirements at freezing rates. The total entry in the fat sheep section was 1780 head of stock, ewes and lambs predominating, only a few lines of quality wethers being offered for sale. Ewe prices ranged from 5/3 to 7/6, the top prico being realised for a> pen of 32 prime well-bodied ewes. The quality lines sold from 6/6 upwards. Fat lambs were well represented, some excellent lines being offered. Prices ranged from 9/- to 14/-, a single prime lamb realising the top price. A pen of 11 prime lambs were sold nt 13/10, and wero just as good qualitw as the 14/- lamb. Wether prices were all fairly good, the best lines making from 11/- to 13/9, other entries making from 9/9 upwards. .
