WEDDING

ELLEN—FLEMING On Wednesday afternoon St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Waipukurau, was the scene of a quiet and Very pretty wedding when the marriage was solemnised between Helen Florence, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs R. J. Fleming, Farm road, Waipukurau, and Ralph, youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs G. A. Ellen, Kaiapoi, Canterbury. The Rev. F. W. Robertson, Waipawa, officiated, and Mrs G. Bryce, aunt of the bride, played the wedding music. The bride, who entered the church with her father to the strains of “The Voice That Breathed O’er EJen,” wore a most attractive gown of cream corded satin. The gored skirt was pin tucked at the hip and fell in long, graceful folds. The long full sleeves were of ninon and a yoke of ninon finished the bodice. The plaited belt was finished with a diamante buckle. Her beautiful embroidered net veil was caught to the head with a circlet of orange blossoms. Cream satin shoes were worn and a beautiful sheaf of gladiolas in pink shadings, with autumn leaves, completed her ensemble. Her only bridesmaid, Miss Clara Fleming, was wearing an ankle length gown of apple-green silk marocain, her small cap being of green. She carried a bouquet of blue and green hydrangeas and maiJcn-hair fern. Mr David Fleming, brother of the bride, was best man. After the ceremony a small reception was held at the home of the bride, only relatives being present. Mrs Fleming was wearing a smart black crepe de fhene frock, relieved with white and black and white hat. She carried a bouquet of purple and mauve asters. The bride and bridegroom left later for the south, the bride wearing a smart frock of navy satin beaute under a long eoat of diagonal royal blue tweed, with wide fur collar and small blue felt hat.

The beautiful bouquet were made by Alias Rewa Todd, a friend of the bride.
