CUP TO GREAT CHENAULT. TOTALISATOR IMPROVEMENT. Timaru, March 11. Thp Timaru Trotting Club’s meeting was held in fine weather. The attendance was good and the track fast. Tho totalisator handled £10,809 10/-, made up of £4229 10/- on the win and £6580 on the place machine, compared with £9907 last year. Results:— Kingsdown Handicap.—l/1 Esther (Bust) 1, 7/6 Alf Parrish (Jarden) 2, 5/5 Marvin Guy (R. Franks) 3. Also ran: 10/10 Car Bingen, 11/11 Bonny Nelson, 4/7 Nelson’s Lady, 8/9 Jacob, 6/4 Bingen Lin, 2/2 Ilakatere, 3/3 Mataunga, 9/8 Amonos. Won by a neck, third back a length. Amonos was fourth. Time, 3/55. Trial Handicap.—4/4 Desert Maiden (Kennerley) 1, 3/1 Gunmetal (King) 2, 1/2 Good Companion (AL Holmes) 3. Also ran: 10/10 Daphne Queen, 7/8 Pukeuri, 8/7 Royal Audo, 9/9 Tatsy Nelson, 2/3 Happy Bird, 11/11 Eulogium, 6/6 Enigma, 4/5 Reporter. Won by a neck, third back four lengths. Reporter was fourth. Somerby made the pace a cracker, reaching tho first mile in 2.12 4-5. Colonial Boy and Great Chenault came next. At the mile and a half Great Chenault took charge, and in the straight Sunny Morn challenged, but Great Chenault held tho lead to the post.
