MONTHLY COUNCIL MEETING. GENERAL MATTERS DISPOSED OF. The monthly meeting of the H.B. County Council was held to-day; present: Mr. F. B. Logan (chairman), and Crs. T. Mason Chambers, C. Lassen, W. Turner, S. Palmer, W. Tucker, 0. C. Smith, R. Harding, S. Bennett, L. J. Dooney and Sir Andrew Russell. The Department of Internal Affairs advised that it was not proposed to extend legislation dealing with remission of the ten per cent, penalty on uncollected rates. —Received. The question of Taradale being asked to assist in the cost of drainagrf works at Greenmeadows was held over for consideration by tho council in committee. The Valuation Department advised that the re-valuation figures for tho Meeanee, Puketapu, Waimarama and Okawa- ridings were now almost completed.
