AHURIRI LAGOON
THE DRAINAGE HOLD-UP. COUNTY APPEALS TO UNEMPLOYMENT BOARD. The Hawke’s Bay County Council today decided to urge upon, tho Unemployment Board the need of making the proposals of the Napier Harbour Board for the drainage of the Ahuriri Lagoon an urgent matter. The chairman, Mr F. B. Logan, pointed out that the drainage of both Greenmeadows and Meeanee was completely held up until the drainage of Ahuriri Lagoon was undertaken. The council had carried its drainage works as far as it was possible to do so. From a health point of view the carrying out of the drainage scheme was essential.
