Tho weather was cool and overcast, with a light easterly breeze. The tracks were in fast condition. Canterbury won the Athletic Shield with a total of 44 points. Otago was next with 37, West Coast (North Island) 26, Auckland 25, Wellington 22. Results:— 120 yards hurdles. —Final: G. McGregor (Canterbury) 1, P. S. Bowie (Auckland) 2, I. O. Manson (Otago) 3.
