FIRING AT TRENTHAM. EXCELLENT CONDITIONS TO-DAY. By Telegraph—Press Association Trentham, March 10. Little fault could be found with the conditions experienced for the firing of tho championship matches for the King ’a Prize at Trentham this morning. The first squads down had hardly a breath of wind, with good visibility, as a result of which the scoring was high at the 800 yards of the two-range Auckland Match. Possibles were made by J. H. Kearney (Napier), H. W. Feast (Greytown), T. H. R. Boon (Karori), L. H. Warburton (Petone), V. Donald (Opaki), R. King (Opaki), G. Burford (Wanganui), F. Clark (Ashburton), and W. Green (Okawa). A slight mirage that developed as the morning advanced required watching at the 900 yards range, where there were two possibles, F. Bowes (Auckland) and B. B, Jones (Nelson) being the only two to put all their shots in the bullseye. The match was won by Bowes with a score of 98. Warburton and J. Bryden (Kaiapoi) were in second and third places respectively.
