CLEARANCE OF SLUMS,
BRITISH MINISTER’S PLAN. British Official Wireless Service. Rugby, March 7. The Government’s Housing Bill received its third reading in the House of Commons. Sir Hilton Young gave details of the plan for slum clearance. He proposes to call on council authorities to prepare surveys of the slums in their areas, and to submit programmes winch will distinguish between reconditioning and clearance. He will also ask them to impose sonic limit for the completion of the task. Sir Hilton Young said that it was the intention of the Government to sec the work through.
