• PARISHIONERS OBJECT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, March 9. When the parishioners of the Halkett Presbyterian charge heard that a call was coming from Waipukurau to their minister, the Rev. Thee Paterson, they met and expressed the unanimous hope that Mr. Paterson would not leave the charge. When the call came before tho Christchurch Presbytery a deputation attended as commissioners from Halkett to urge the wishes of the congregation that Mr. Paterson should stay there. Mr. Paterson had said that he would not act against tho wishes of the people of his charge. The Presbytery resolved that the call should not be placed in Mr. Paterson *s hands.
