TARADALE R.S.A.

THE MONTHLY MEETING. From Our Own Correspondent. The usual monthly meeting of the Taradale branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association was held on Tuesday evening in Mr Barnes’ shop, Mr J. Millar presiding over a good attendance of members. The secretary presented the balance sheet of the recent sports meeting, which disclosed a debit balance of a little over £3, due mainly to the fact that the expenses were slightly heavier and that donations also showed a very substantial decrease. Apart from the financial position the meeting was one of the most successful and enjoyable yet held, and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to all those who helped in any way at the meeting, especially the donors of trophies and cash. One member was granted assistance. Several schemes were discussed at length, having as their object the raising of funds for relief purposes, and a strong committee was set up to arrange details.
