LADY SNOWDEN RETRENCHED. London, December 24. “I have not resigned. I have been given the axe,” said Lady Snowden, after receiving a letter from the Post-master-General, Sir H. Kingsley Wood, intimating that her appointment to the British Broadcasting Corporation would terminate at the end of the year. Referring to the letter. Lady Snowden, who is one of the three to be displaced, said: “It praises .our services. Why, therefore, have they retired us? The letter gives no reason.”
